The New World Symphony and Miami Dance Futures present METAMOTO Musician + Choreographer Forum a collaborative evening curated by dance artist lydia bittner-baird featuring the work of choreographers Letty Bassart and Yara Travieso; Composers, Daniel Bernard Roumain and Jerome Begin; and fellows of the New World Symphony Drawing its title from the prefix meta meaning “beyond” and the phrase con moto, a tempo mark directing that a passage is to be played "with motion," this first of its kind Musician Choreographer Forum will stretch the perimeter of classical sound and contemporary movement. The evenings will feature two world premiere dances, Requiem for a Mustard Seed Closes in Song Act II by Letty Bassart with music by Daniel Bernard Roumain and a quartet of fellows; and SET by Yara Travieso with music by Jerome Begin and seven New World Symphony fellows. Both works will honor this year’s opening of the New World Symphony Center. Metamoto dance works are being produced in part by Thought Loom, Inc. The evening has been made possible with support from City of Miami Beach, Cultural Affairs Program, and Cultural Arts Council; the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Mayor, and the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners.
